At the time the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially deprived the right to manage the Olympic level of the International Boxing Association (IBA), IOC immediately established an international boxing federation managed by them. The name of this organization is World Boxing, and let's learn more about them.
The predecessor of the World Boxing is a group of 18 members of IBA formerly, represented by Mr. Boris Van der Vorst (Netherlands). Boris Van Der Vorst lost to Umar Kremlev in the Election of the President of IBA in September 2022, since then, he and his team began to develop the Union.
As of the Paris Olympic Dictionary, World Boxing had nearly 40 members, spreading through 5 continents. They actually started to create a certain influence when successfully admitting some members who were considered as “strongholds” of IBA such as Korea, India and Italy.
Below is a list of members of World Boxing on the continent. It can be seen that most World Boxing members are now located in the Americas, Europe, along with some countries in Asia and Oceania. Africa only has Nigeria decided to join the World Boxing.

The World Boxing is increasingly admitted to many members, but the current structure of Boxing decomposes to the continental level federation. According to this structure, the World Boxing has not been able to manage the continental federation, where most members still attach and support IBA.
In the article shared in July 2024, the European Boxing Federation (EUBC) publicly supported IBA. The Asian Boxing Federation (ASBC) will meet an extraordinary meeting next month to vote to join the World Boxing or stay in IBA. This is the second time they have done this. In the first vote at the end of 2023, 90% of ASBC members chose to stay in IBA.
In the next article, we will share more about the World Boxing method, as well as IBA to convince member states to stand on our side. Another noticeable information is that Vietnam is still a member of ASBC, IBA and applies IBA's international competition and international standards.
