Anthony Joshua predicted that Deontay Wilder would surprise in the upcoming rematch against Tyson Fury on the morning of October 10 (Vietnam time). Joshua even hypothesized that Wilder will lower Knockout Fury to regain heavy WBC belt.
“I will favor Wilder,” Anthony Joshua said when asked by the reporter's wing at the press conference.
“Wilder is really determined to regain the championship. He is obsessed with the thought of winning the upcoming match. A fierce puncher will always be a dangerous puncher.”
“Wilder will probably win the point … No, there will be Knockout. One of them will launch a knockout punch.”
The Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 will take place at Las Vegas on October 9. In the first match in December 2018, Fury and Wilder had a draw, and in the second match in February 2020, Fury won overwhelming with the 7th half.
That is why Tyson Fury is receiving quite large expectations from the majority of the audience, including former US President Donald Trump, who admitted that Fury defeated Wilder too convincing.
For his part, Anthony Joshua said his main priority was to play with Oleksandr Usyk to regain 4 championship belts. However, if possible, he still wants to fight any of the two names Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, even when not a belt battle.
“The path to the absolute heavy champion is still very good, very attractive,” Joshua said.
“But I will be ready to fight with an excellent opponent like Tyson Fury, Wilder or anyone, no need to prioritize whether or not to have the championship. For example, with Tyson Fury, it is important that the audience see the British derby between the attackers with attacks and ready to plunge into the leaves.”
Anthony Joshua's boss, Eddie Hearn, said the organization may try to arrange the rematch of Joshua vs. USYK 2 takes place in February or March 2022.
Usyk wants to organize this match in Kiev, Ukraine, but Hearn thinks it is not too feasible.
