How did Michael Pham come to Muay Thai ring?

Michael Pham was born in London, England, with his parents who are Vietnamese. The two grandparents went to Tottenham and worked in a sewing factory, on Michael were 3 sisters. The life of the small Vietnamese family has passed quite peacefully. As the only son in the house, being spoiled since childhood, Michael started falling into video games. He glued his eyes on the computer screen after every hour of school, which made Michael not very close to his peers.

“I am not good at almost everything. Everything I like the most at that time was video games,” Michael Pham said. “I never participated in sports or outdoors. I was not good at school. Every time I came home from school, I just wanted to go to my computer.”

The turning point was when Michael committed a high school. Receiving a lot of stigma from racial issues and not being able to integrate with the same class departments, Michael Pham was often threatened and beaten. Michael Pham often tried to call his cousin to “rescue”, but it was not a long -term plan.

“The other children often rob my things or do the same. I have to endure their compression at all times at school,” Michael Pham said.

“At first, I called my cousin whenever they were bullied, so he came to teach them a lesson. It was good when someone to call for help, but the problem was that I often called him too much. He said that I need to learn how to protect myself because he could not protect me for life.”

Michael Pham's cousin took him to coach Phillip Tieu Tieu, so that Michael started to learn Muay Thai at home as a self -defense. Initially, with the prejudice that he was “nothing” in the mobilization, Michael Pham was not too excited about learning martial arts. But then buying beams soaked for a long time, even though he only studied martial arts once a week, Michael Pham began to passion for martial arts of Bat Chi art.

“I was never interested in martial arts until I realized that I needed to protect myself from the dangers. I know I have to learn and practice to get confidence in myself,” Michael said.
