On Friday, Henry Cejudo shared on Twitter a shocking information with the antagonistic sports community. More specifically, the Champion of 2 weight classes of the UFC prize confirmed that he would compete with Floyd Mayweather.
“The match will happen! Triple C vs Olympic bronze medal @floydmayweather”, Henry Cejudo posted on Twitter.
A few days ago, UFC President Dana White and President Rizin FF Nobuyuki Sakakibara had a meeting at Floyd Mayweather's home. This is a remarkable thing because Nobuyuki Sakakibara was also president of Pride before selling this tournament to UFC.
Because of the above information, there is currently a hypothesis that this year, Floyd Mayweather will have two friendly matches, one in Rizin and one at UFC. This is likely to happen because at the end of 2018, Floyd Mayweather also played a friendly at an event of Rizin with the opponent, Kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
In addition to the unreal rumors, one thing that can be sure is Mayweather this year will match with Youtuber Logan Paul as planned.
As for Cejudo, his last match was in May 2020, when he won TKO in the second half against the former Bantamweight Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Soon after the match, “Triple C” declared retired, but also left the possibility of him returning to the fighting floor.
Since then, Cejudo has expressed his desire to return to confront the champion of the Featherweight Alexander Volkanovski and the Bantamweight Aljamain Sterling champion, but no match is really arranged.
