The last match against Andrre Muniz at UFC 262 was the last match in the contract of “crocodile” Ronaldo Souza with UFC, and the world's largest MMA tournament chose to break up with 41 -year -old Brazilian fighter.
This is actually not necessarily a surprising decision, when Jacare Souza did not win any victory in the last four matches. Looking further, he won only two matches in the last eight matches.
This is different from the golden age of the Brazilian star. “Crocodile” Souza was once the Strikeforce champion and later became one of the top candidates in Middleweight at UFC for many years. Ronaldo Souza has beaten names like Chris Weidman, Vitor Belfort, Gegard Mousasi, Yushin Okami and Derek Brunson.
Unfortunately, Jacare has never won a medium title (185lbs) before his performance began to go down.
It is not clear whether Souza will continue to play, but now he is expected to take a break of about 6 months to recover after the surgery he has experienced to treat the broken arm during the defeat against Muniz.
Jacare left UFC with the final record of 9-7, while the best performance in his career was 20-10.
