Conor McGregor will 'crush' Dustin Poirier on the rematch

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will once again confront each other at UFC 264 this weekend in the “holy place” of the antagonistic sports village, the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Despite being defeated by Poirier in the rematch earlier this year, Conor McGregor was still confident that he would punch the opponent in the upcoming match.

“I will rush over the opponent on July 10. I will punch him, no need to ask,” Conor McGregor said in the interview with Rolling Stone.

“I am the most dangerous person. Being the one who focuses on the goal. That will defeat Poirier. He has no way to confront the pressure I bring to him on Saturday night.”

One of the big reasons why Conor McGregor was very confident because he was finally no longer worried about being “matched”, “overwhelmed” in the match due to less on the ring. McGregor had 2 matches in the past 7 months, and “The Notorious” confirmed that Thuong Dai often made his floor feeling much better.

“I am always in a better state when I was on the stage regularly,” McGregor said. “At that time, I was more agile, more dangerous and able to focus more.”

If Conor McGregor wins this rematch against Dustin Poirier, he will hold the strategy for the defending champion Charles Oliviera – that's what UFC President Dana White promised. But that is not necessarily the desire of McGregor – who just wants to take care of new heights.

“After I crushed my opponent, I will decide what to do next,” McGregor concluded.
