The “Nigerian nightmare” Kamaru Usman held the title of his Welterweight championship in the rematch against Jorge Masvidal in Florida. Usman clearly overwhelmed the first half before defeating Knockout Masvidal in the Hiep, clearly affirming that he was a better boxer.
After the match, McGregor announced his intention to step on the Welterweight weight to challenge Usman in 2022.
“Usman even imitated my shots,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “Will I fight this guy at a certain stage? I think so. There is no story of copying my conversation style and my blow without being punished by me.
“I like the 170 pound belt (Welterweight). It is mine soon.” Conor McGregor affirmed.
“I am near that 170 weight class. Please wait for me to the end of the year, let me sweep the 155 pound weight. I will take the championship of this weight class and then move to the new weight class.”
Before this can happen, Conor McGregor will have to solve the “resentment” not finished in the Lightweight weight class. Dublin's puncher is about to rematch against Dustin Poirier, who defeated him at UFC 257 in January.
This is the third time McGregor has been with “The Diamond”. The encounter of both will take place on July 10 at the UFC 264 event.
