Eight years after the great debut at UFC against Marcus Brimage, Conor McGregor experienced both the most glorious moments and the worst moments.
Now, when he has undergone the unforgettable defeat with Dustin Poirier earlier this year, McGregor decided that in order to shock his style, he needed a process of relentless preparation, like what Conor had experienced in the beginning of his career.
As revealed by McGregor, he only had two months to prepare for the UFC debut in Sweden. 'The Notorious' merely eating, sleeping and practicing in the early stages of his career, when he from the throne of the world championship of the Cage Warriors Championship became the feather king of UFC.
“My UFC debut, I discovered that I had only 9 weeks to prepare,” McGregor tweeted. “I spent a week to prepare my body, which was brushed because of the party and giving up the episode. The next 8 weeks, I moved to my sister's apartment, near the gym.”
“I wake up, practice, walk back to the apartment, eat meals and rest, practice back, return to the apartment, sleep, repeat.”
McGregor continued: “I don't rest every day unless I am forced to do so. Even Sunday I will practice. I will perform this approach to my rematch.”
“I did not become UFC's two weight champions with this method. But thanks to it, I became the UFC Featherweight champion and previously became a champion of two weights of the Cage Warrior.”
McGregor is about to return to the octagon cage at UFC 264 on July 10, when he and Dustin Poirier will face the third time and are likely to be the last match. The Irish puncher suffered his first TKO defeat in his MMA career when playing with Poirier January this year.
McGregor's desire to victory in recent years has been doubted by many people – including UFC President Dana White – but 'The Notorious' is eager to become and prove that he still has a lot to devote to MMA sports.
