Canelo Alvarez return to Light Heavyweight after sweeping Super Middleweight?

The Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who holds the WBC, WBA, WBO World Middleweight 168LBS, is really looking to unify the entire weight class in September. The only obstacle at the present time is the IBF Caleb Plant super medium champion.

“We know that Caleb Plant is being managed by Al Haymon. We will talk to Heymon to see what they want. We are ready to do anything necessary for the Alvarez vs Plant's match – it will be a unified battle, an extremely worthwhile battle,” Canelo Alvarez's coach, Mr. Eddy Reynoso, told Tudn.

“Caleb Plant has been shown that he is a very important opponent on the ring. We are ready to join the side to negotiate the next war of Canelo.”

If Canelo Alvarez surpassed Caleb Plant and agreed on the entire Super Middleweight weight class, he could consider returning to play in the Light Heavyweight 175LBS. If so, the two most worthless opponents that Canelo could encounter will be the IBF Artur BetriV champion and WBA Dmitry Bivol champion.

Canelo played in this weight class in 2019, lowering Knock-out Sergey Kovalev to win the World Wbo title. However, Canelo then left the belt to go down to the radio at 168LBS.

“If we become absolute champions at 168LBS, we will reach 175LBS, where competitors like Beterbiev, Bivol, we can fight them. We want to challenge,” Mr. Raynoso said.

“First, we conquered the 160lbs weight, then 168LBS and then, the goal would be a weight of 175lbs.”
