After Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor in the second half at UFC 257, many viewers believed that the two boxers would have the first opposition for the third time. Both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier were interested in rematch. But with the close time, will the script of the Poirier vs McGregor 3 match repeat the script of the Poirier vs McGregor 2 match?
“No, certainly no,” said Dustin Poirier recently said on the Podcast of BLV Joe Rogan.
“This is a battle, you cannot expect that you will know all the plan and the trump card of the opponent. Conor will change the tactics to win. I will change. I will not go into the path, so that Dustin goes to the floor in the third match that is different from Dustin appearing in the second match, forcing McGregor to try, must guess.”
Although Dustin Poirier hopes that the Poirier vs McGregor 3 will be a Lightweight Championship struggle, he has nothing to guarantee that UFC will give Conor a stretching capacity. As for the rematch, Poirier said he hoped it would take place this summer.
“Around June, July something. My wife's birthday is coming, we plan to go somewhere for a few days.”
“When I was informed about the match, I would soak in the training course again, no problem. I was not ready to return to Florida when I was only a month off and wasolated for 10 weeks. I still want to have more time with my family if possible.”
