According to Decree No. 152/2018/ND-CP issued by the Government on November 7, 2018, the athletes who won a medal at the SEA Games will receive a reward of VND 45 million in turn to win the gold medal, VND 25 million if they win the gold medal, and VND 20 million when winning bronze medals. In case of breaking a record at the SEA Games, they will receive a reward of 20 million. In addition to the above bonus, at the SEA Games to the athletes participating in each subject can also receive hot rewards from agencies and departments.
In the announcement, the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF), this unit said they would reward 100 million VND for the boxers to win the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games. Those who won the gold medal received VND 50 million and the bronze medal received VND 30 million. According to Mr. Tran Minh Tien, Chairman of VBF, this amount comes from some sponsors to accompany VBF over the past time.
At the 31st SEA Games, Boxing will compete in a total of 13 sets of medals, including 8 men's and 5 female contents. In preparation for high achievements in the SEA Games, it was held at home, the Vietnamese boxing team has summoned many notable faces such as Truong Dinh Hoang, Nguyen Thi Tam, Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi, Nguyen Van Duong, Tran Van Thao … They are considered the core of the squad to win a medal at the next SEA Games.
At the present time, members of the South Vietnamese boxing team are in the 1 -month training period in Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan. Meanwhile, female members gathered at two locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. At the end of the 1 -month training, they will prepare to compete in the Boxing Championship of strong teams nationwide in Tien Giang in late March. This is considered the selection of members to attend the SEA Games.
According to the schedule announced by the organizers, Boxing will compete from May 15 to 22 in Bac Ninh province. All 13 finals will take place on the last day of competition, also the day of closing the 31 SEA Games. This is one of the latest competitions, and also the most evaluated in the upcoming Congress.
