UFC 262 ended with the victory of Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush. Oliveira defeated former King Bellator Michael Chandler, and Dariush won former King Interim Tony Ferguson in a 3 -round match. Will they have the opportunity to meet soon on the same ring?
Beneil Dariush believes yes. He even said that he had the opportunity to confront Charles Oliveira in the first battle of the defending champion's belt, that is, before the winner in the match of Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 3 in July this year.
“I guess that the ability to let me immediately paint the belt is small, but it is still possible,” Dariush said.
“In terms of business, that match (Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 3) will determine the next belt competition. But it does not change that I am the martial artist who has the longest chain of weight.
“On the other hand, those guys, both Conor and Dustin, will not quickly sign the upper contract. They will struggle to have greater benefits – I have seen the contracts that are removed in the hands of Dustin and Conor. Sometimes it is difficult for them to agree. So I have a chance.”
Currently Beneil Dariush will take a break to welcome the first child. However, he also expected to return to the octagonal ring soon.
“All they need is to give me a match in late November or December,” Dariush said. “I just needed. Not so long. I am sure Charles will want a break to celebrate the championship in Brazil and do something.
