Arranged for the name of the event twice in a row, the Brazilian 30 -year -old puncher knew that he received this was not accidental.
“I am very happy,” Sakai said in the last press conference. “Another main event, this shows how much UFC is on me.”
Before the defeat in September, Sakai owned a series of six consecutive wins, which included the first match in UFC. The defeat at the hands of Overeem is what always bothered him.
“I was unbeaten at UFC, and I hated to lose, so I hated that loss,” Sakai said. “The feeling is so bad that I never want to taste it again.”
Sakai returned to the most basic steps after failure, and he said that mental change was the most necessary adjustment.
“I think the biggest switch is in my head,” Sakai shared. “I know that I have to evolve and become better to achieve my dream, so it affects my practice and everything. Now I feel much better.”
This weekend, Augusto Sakai (15-2-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) will return to play at the UFC Fight Night 189 event. His opponent is Jairzinho Rozenstruik (11-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC). The competition of both will be the focus of the event night.
Sakai also said he respects the ability to blow as strong as Rozenstruik's heavenly heaven, but does not consider it an unusual.
“He has strength, but I also have the power of Knockout,” Sakai said. “I have shown that in UFC and I do not make any big plan or conversion. I am on a tactic for my own match and defeat him.”
