The fourth day of the Thailand Boxing tournament has ended with 20 matches. 3 Vietnamese boxers, Tran Van Thao, Nguyen Van Duong and Vo Thi Kim Anh, won the next round “with the excellent performance”, ASBC said.
Tran Van Thao had a dramatic comeback against Indonesian veteran Kornelis Kwangu Langu. Considered to be the most experienced boxer of Indonesia, Langu competed in most of the most fierce arenas of the amateur boxing world after 10 years of competition.
Faced with Tran Van Thao, a person who was not really used to the amateur boxing after many years of competition, Langu put pressure on the beginning of the match. In contrast, the Asian WBC champion uses his powerful hook punches to overcome Langu.
“The reigning runner -up SEA Games Langu entered the third half with the uppercut. But Tran Van Thao won with a technical style and an accurate counterattack to decide the fate of the match,” ASBC said.
As for Nguyen Van Duong, Vietnamese boxers showed the level of a fighter in the Olympic arena by completely controlling the quarterfinals with the opponent Sao Rangsey. As a Cambodian champion, but Rangsey is inferior in both the speed and power of the punches.
Not inferior to male colleagues, Vo Thi Kim Anh also proved herself by reaching the final of the 54kg content. Vietnamese boxers defeated Thai host Apisada Tannaawa to enter the last match against Sirine Charaabi, candidate for the champion from Italy.
The expanded Thai Boxing Championship will take a break on April 7 and return on April 8, where matches are in the semi -finals and finals.
