Alistair Overeem returned to Kickboxing and signed a contract with Glory

“We are very happy that Alistair Overeem will join Glory. Alistair is one of the fighters with power, stubbornness and dispute in advance the opponents. Today is a big day with Kickboxing in general and Glory in particular, there will certainly be extremely attractive matches that people cannot miss.” President Glory Pierre Andurand declared in a press conference.

The 41-year-old Dutch-41-year-old general is no stranger to Kickboxing when he has won against names like Badr Hari and Peter Aerts before defeating Tyron Spong, Gokhan Saki and Peter Aerts in just one night and won the K-1 World Grand-Prix in 2010.

Alistair Overeem is one of the only two people in the history that once held the title of MMA and professional martial arts championship at the same time. With a total of 66 battles in MMA career, Overeem is still in the top 5 and has won the MMA tournament championships like Pride, Strikeforce and Dream.

About a decade ago, Overeem signed a contract with UFC and during the past years he fought exclusively for them. While there were some victories against the big names of UFC, Overeem unfortunately has not been charming with the title of UFC's Heavyweight championship.

Now Alistair Overeem is only his own shadow in the past, when he quickly fell to Alexander Volkov after only 2 rounds at UFC Fight Night 184, making him a final achievement of 47-19.
