In the focal match of UFC 300, Jamahal Hill lost to Alex Pereira after only 3 minutes. The former champion of Light Heavyweight's weight fell after a situation of hit from “Patan”. The referee immediately intervened, and the workers won the technical knockout for Pereira.
For boxers who lose to knock-out, they often have to take a long time to play. That process can last 6 months, even more than 1 year with serious injuries. However, Jamahal Hill accepted the proposal to continue playing after less than 3 months to encounter Alex Pereira.
Explaining soon to return to the competition, Hill said: “In the loss of Pereira, the situation I fell before I was tried to lose almost because I fell myself. I almost did not have to receive a heavy blow from Pereira so I could return soon.” Health test results from doctors also supported Hill's statement.
In the recent announcement of UFC, Jamahal Hill will continue to play at UFC 303, the event takes place in late June. Hill's opponent is Khalil Rountree. The winner of this pair will ensure a position in the top 3 weight of Light Heavyweight, thereby having the opportunity to challenge belt.
Besides Jamahal Hill, UFC currently has a number of fighters who are able to compete in the Heavyweight Light, Jiri Prochazka and Magomed Ankalaev. Both have won the last time they played, thereby ensuring a position in the first group. Jan Blachowicz can also be eligible for belt.
