On the sidelines of the National Boxing Championship of 2024, ITHETHAO.vn received some opinions from delegations and units about the regulations on re -examination and settlement of complaints in accordance with current regulations. On that basis, Ithethao.vn has learned, based on existing information and provided to readers.
This article will provide information about the review of the score in the match. This is also the most applied review, which appears with the largest frequency. Regarding the current grading principles as well as advantages and disadvantages, readers can refer to HERE.
So when does the rules of review and complaints in Boxing are high? Before 2018, this regulation has never existed. It was only proposed after the ASIAD 2018 final in women's boxing, weighing 51 kg. It was the match between the two boxers Pang Chol Mi (North Korea) and Chang Yuan (China).
In that match, Pang Chol Mi played completely overwhelming before Chang Yuan. However, the transcript was announced and then leaned to Chinese boxers. This is one of the most controversial situations in the Asian Games that year. The Korean team coaching stands against the ring, and the neutral audience continuously whistled and booed the organizers.
The consequences from the ASIAD final that year made the International Boxing Association (IBA) admit a fact: high -achievement boxing with misleading grading. This may seriously affect the results of the matches. Therefore, the re -examination section began to be included in the regulations.
In the period of 2019-2022, IBA's re-examination regulations allow the teams to be required to re-mark after the results are published. They may request whether their athletes lose 2-3, 1-4 or 0-5. However, the organizers only marked the point of a single round, instead of all 3 rounds.
This regulation of IBA has helped the competition teams can speak up. In the opposite direction, what will happen when after the re -examination, the athletes who were previously announced the victory was now losing? This took place in international tournaments, and “victims” include Vietnamese athletes.
In October 2019, boxer Nguyen Thi Tam attended the World Women's Boxing Championship in Russia. In the quarterfinals, she won 3-2 against host Liliya Aetbaeva. The Russian team then complained, and reversed the result to win 3-2 against the representative of Vietnam. Liliya Aetbaeva then won the championship.
From the end of 2022 to now, IBA has had a new adjustment in judging and settling complaints. The competition delegations are not allowed to request the re -examination. Instead, the organizers only perform this after appearing the final results 3-2 given by 5 inspections.
According to the current regulation (Bout Review), when the result appears 3-2, there will be 2 supervisors or high-level referees review the match within 5 minutes and grading. This has been applied from the World Women's Boxing Championship 2023, but once again, the Vietnamese athletes suffer from this dot.
In April 2024, at the opening match of the Boxing U22 and young Asian Championships, Dam Ngoc Duc boxer (Bac Ninh) met Damdindorj Purevdorj (Mongolia). After 3 rounds, the representative of Vietnam temporarily won 3-2. Two supervisors in the dots and then identified Mongolian boxer Thang, so the final result was Dam Ngoc Duc received 3-4 defeat.
The aforementioned data shows that, even when applying the regulation that allows the re -examination (both new and old), the high -achievement boxing can not make a satisfactory decision for the parties. This is similar to VAR technology in football. Besides, Bout Review also requires the organizers to have a large funding source, because of providing matches in many angles.
In fact, the current conditions of Vietnam have not allowed to apply Bout Review to high achievement prizes. At the National Sports Festival 2022, the Organizing Committee applied the Bout Review in the direction of the situation in Vietnam: 2 Supervisors only dot when appearing results 3-2 and were requested by the team.
Boxing of the National Sports Festival 2022 also appeared many “strange” matches. In addition, the application of Bout Review does not bring satisfactory results to the parties. For that reason, the current Vietnam boxing still allows teams to request a review with the following regulations:
– Units may require re -examination with all arbitrary results. Even when his athlete lost 0-5, the coach still had the right to request to dot.
– Each unit has a maximum of 3 times a request to dot and the results are constant.
– Instead of only 1 round, the Organizing Committee will dot all 3 rounds.
– The number of referees in the match is an odd number larger than 5, maybe 7 people, 9 people, 11 people or 13 people. This is to ensure that the match has the most actual results. The referee is not on the mission in that match, helping the results offer more objective.
Regarding the current regulations related to the review of the Vietnamese boxing, at each professional meeting, which takes place before the opening day, the general arbitration always clearly informs: the current international regulations do not allow complaints and reviews, but Boxing Vietnam still allowed, with “wider” conditions. The delegations also did not object to this.
Therefore, the arguments such as “losing 1-4 are not complained” are completely inaccurate. In addition, the re -examination according to aspirations also ensures the right to speak up by the units.
