On the afternoon of October 23, Sam Minh Phat entered the Wbo Oriental's battle, comparing the same opponent than himself 25 steps on the world rankings – Arar Andales.
Entering the match with confident manner, Sam Minh Phat had a good start in the first seconds with exact JAB. Commenting on the Filipino opponent, Minh Phat also praised Andales for the opponent who owns “quite heavy” and “closed” punches.
However, a hooked punch in the eye in the first half caused the Vietnamese puncher to fall into a secret position. Referring to this issue, Minh Phat revealed:
“I personally feel that the opponent is not too heavy, not equal to those who practice in Uzbekistan. However, eye injuries in the first half made me difficult.”
“The first half, I could still fight, I was normal – just hit my left eye.
In fact, from the beginning of the fourth half, both eyes of Sam Minh Phat were quite swollen. In addition, the Filipino rival also launched many overhand shots into Minh Phat's eyelids, making the situation worse.
“Not knowing what the opponent hit, nor could he see the opponent's blow,” Minh Phat admitted when he recounted his feelings in the fourth, 5th and 6th half.
Despite being limited in vision, Minh Phat still wants to fight until the last half. Unfortunately, the referee controls the match that does not allow him to continue – it is a fairly good decision to protect the health of the boxer.
With this defeat, Minh Phat was released to a star on the BoxRec page. At the same time, he also lost the opportunity to become the WBO Oriental champion. However, at the age of 27, Minh Phat has a lot of time to perfect himself in a professional boxing floor.
