At the 31st SEA Games, boxer Trinh Thi Diem Kieu successfully changed the medal she won in the previous tournament. In the Philippines 2019, Diem Kieu won a bronze medal of 48kg of women, and at the 31st SEA Games she reached the final and certainly won at least 1 silver medal.
Diem Kieu's opponent in the gold match was Chuthamat Raksat, Thai boxer. To go to the final match of the tournament, Raksat turned Josie Gabuco, the Filipino puncher into the former champion in the semi -finals. That makes Raksat the most severe candidate for the championship before the match begins.
Not overwhelmed by the enthusiastic encouragement of Vietnamese audiences, Raksat actively attacked very early and overwhelmed Diem Kieu. Thai boxers made Kieu stunned by many heavy punches, and sometimes Kieu almost completely suffered. The first half ended with the overwhelming victory in favor of Raksat.
Of the 5 judges of the first half, up to 3 people with Raksat won with a score of 10-8. The remaining three assessments of Thai fighters won 10-9. The situation did not change in the second half, when Raksat continued to overwhelm Diem Kieu and won the difference in the score, thereby almost banned the victory.
Diem Kieu area in the third half but cannot turn the game
Losing the point in the first 2 rounds made Diem Kieu be forced to rise in the last half. However, the host of the host country could not break the opponent's defense, especially when Raksat actively moved continuously, avoiding Kieu's “punches” with a few direct attacks.
At the end of the match, Raksat won the final against Diem Kieu and won the SEA Games 31st. As for Kieu, she played successfully in this year's tournament when she was not evaluated too much before the 31st SEA Games started.
