Before Tran Thi Linh went to the final of the 60kg women's final, Boxing Vietnam won 2/4 gold medals on the last competition day. Linh's teammates Nguyen Thi Tam and Vuong Thi Vy excelled in winning gold after Tran Van Thao and Trinh Thi Diem Kieu lost to the final.
The fact that Boxing Vietnam had 2 gold medals before the final final of Tran Thi Linh helped her much more psychological comfort. Earlier, Linh reached the final was the biggest surprise at the tournament when she defeated two SEA Games champions in the outer round to enter the last match against Indonesian boxer Huswatun Hasanah.
