According to iThethao.vn Noting, 247 athletes (149 male athletes and 98 female athletes) from 16 units of districts and Thu Duc City played this year's tournament. Leading in the number of boxers playing in District 7 and Go Vap registered 34 boxers.

In this year's championship, many famous names from Ho Chi Minh City team appeared such as Huynh Van Tuan 2 times SEA Games, Tran Thi Lua, Nguyen Thi Le, the National Championship. The top boxers will bring fans the top and dramatic matches.
The athletes will play a total of 32 contents including 18 contents of the championship and 14 young contents. The tournament takes place in the form of a knockout format with just one lowkick content. Through the tournament, the coaches and experts of Ho Chi Minh City will evaluate and select more promising and supplementary athletes for the team forces to compete in national tournaments in the near future.
