The former Bantamweight champion of UFC, Cody Garbrandt, last time in June 2020 at UFC 250. Garbrandt entered the match with 3 consecutive losses, 2 of those 3 matches were under the hands of a veteran boxer and also a former champion, TJ Dillashaw.
With a punch on Raphael Assuntao, Garbrandt improved his achievement to 12-3 and returned to his victory form.
Unfortunately, Garbrandt had to take a break in 11 months because of Covid-19. In the press conference to prepare for the event, he recounted details about this.
Garbrandt said: “Talking to my coaches, other media and UFC staff this week, I feel bored.
“You know, such as injury, you can have a timeline 'okay, you will have to rest 4-6 weeks'. Covid is not the same.
“I had to use blood thinning medicine; I had pneumonia; I was dizzy. Dizziness was terrible. And even blood clots. I had blood clots, as I said, for four months.
As I said, dealing with injuries is easier than Covid. And I am always careful with Covid. You know, it is clear that many people are dying for it. But as I said, I take care of myself. I am healthy; I rest; I eat; I recovered well. ”
