UFC President Dana White said he was willing to welcome Jon Jones appearing on the ring again, but if the former heavyweight champion decided to hang gloves, White thought it was not too bad.
“It depends on Jon,” Dana White said. “Jones can completely return to the 205 pound weight. He said he wouldn't fight Stipe Miocic. Now I have the match between Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou. Wait to see how the match results are.”
“If Jones hangs gloves, it is not wrong to give up playing – Jon Jones is an unbeaten boxer, he has never been defeated.”
“Let me tell those who do not know, there is a single defeat in Jones's achievements (with Matt Hamill), but in fact he does not lose that match – Jon Jones overwhelmed in that match like most other matches. It was the time when the Nevada Sports Committee was weakest, and there was a referee who should not catch that match, and he stole the victory from Jon Jones.”
“Therefore, it will not be a bad thing for Jon Jones if he decides to stop playing at this moment.”
Dana White still frankly admits Jon Jones is the greatest martial artist of all time, unfortunately their relationship has become quite tense in recent times.
Jones requested a more beneficial contract to move to heavy and challenge the champion Francis nunnou. UFC disagrees. Instead, Derrick Lewis will be the upper station with the nunnou in the first battle of the new belt of the new heavy champion around August.
UFC president recently proposed the idea of a competition between Jon Jones (January 26 MMA, 20-1 UFC) and former heavy champion Miocic (20-4 MMA, 14-4 UFC), but Jones said frankly that he did not want the upper radio for this match.
