Said Nurmagomedov cannot attend UFC 308 because there is no opponent

The fact that Daniel Santos retreated just a few days before the event made UFC difficult to find a replacement. Initially, they considered the plan for Said to encounter Charles Johnson, who was new to last week. However, to ensure the health of Johnson, he will not be chosen.

The last UFC option is that Said will not attend UFC 308. Instead, he was chosen to play at an upcoming major event. This was the second time Said had to move the schedule in 2024. Before that in June, he withdrew from the match with Montel Jackson because of injury.

Said Nurmagomedov has joined UFC since 2018. Since then, Said has played 9 matches, won 7 and lost 2. More notably, 4 of Said's 7 victories took place in the first half, showing that he was likely to end the opponent soon. In the last match, Said took only 73 seconds to lock Muin Gafurov.

Since the time of joining UFC so far, Said has attracted a lot of attention because of the Nurmagomedov family. Similar to Khabib, he also comes from Dagestan, Russia. But according to this boxer, he did not have a relative close to the Khabib brothers, and the coincidence was just coincidence.
