Tang Kai went through a challenging journey when he faced a serious knee injury. This injury caused the 28 -year -old boxer to leave the fighting floor for the whole year 2023. “This is the first in my career that is not playing for a long time, so I am very excited to win. And of course, I'm really happy and happy to win the desired victory,” Tang Kai shared excitedly.
After a long time of not playing, Tang Kai expects to have more matches in 2024: “I feel my form is really stable in the match against Thanh Le. And I hope to play another or two matches this year.”
The previous One Championship mainly focused on organizing events in Bangkok and Singapore. However, in 2024 they expanded the organization of tournaments in Qatar and Japan. Moreover, there are two events confirmed to take place in the United States.
Since 2020, One Championship has not organized events in China. However, it is reported that a tournament will take place in this country around the end of 2024. If this happens, Tang Kai wants the opportunity to be the upper radio in the homeland so that fans witnessed the performance of the country's martial artists.
“Qatar is wonderful and I feel very excited to participate in such an important match. I have heard that many people in China are particularly interested in this match. And my dream has long had the opportunity to play in my hometown with the ONE Championship event. Hopefully this will become true in the near future,” the Featherweight championship shared.
With the successful protection of the Featherweight championship belt at ONE Championship, it is likely that Tang Kai's next opponent is Garry Tonon. Tonon defeated Martin Nguyen at the One 165 event in January. Although the two have never confronted each other on the stage, Tang Kai is confident to win against American boxers.
