According to the manager Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib is often asked by UFC to propose big matches despite the retirement. Among the rivals proposed by UFC, the most prominent is the legendary Georges St-Pierre.
In the hotboxing with Mike Tyson program, Abdelaziz said:
“10 days ago, UFC Chairman Dana White called me and asked Khabib to fight St -Pierre in the 165LBS weight.
The legendary MMA – Georges St -Pierre announced the retirement after winning the Middleweight championship against Michael Bisping in 2017. The Canadian star admitted himself withdrawing from the player because he did not want to bear the pressure of competition.
It is possible that the competition between Georges St-Pierre and Khabib will be very attractive, but this match is slightly inclined towards the Russian boxer. According to Abdelaziz, St-Pierre should choose another opponent instead of Khabib.
“To be honest, I don't want to see St-Pierre against Khabib. He is 40 years old. Meanwhile, Khabib is a guy who used each other with bears. Although both have the same strengths, Khabib is much younger than St-Pierre. I think this match is not balanced.”
Instead of fighting Khabib, Abdelaziz asked St -Pierre to fight the current king of Welterweight – Kamaru Usman. “I will be very happy if Georges St-Pierre returns and compares with the reigning USman champion. I think the UFC tournament organizers also like this.”
