Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier has been a match for nearly ten years. The two punches had a first encounter in September 2014 in a Featherweight weight stretching match at UFC 178, and the Irish fighter McGregor won his opponent with a knock-out right in the opening half.
It was not until 6 years after the first encounter of these two punches, the two sides had a rematch. The fighter nicknamed the 'The Diamond' Dustin Poirier balanced the score 1-1 in the rematch earlier this year at UFC 257 with the TKO victory over Conor McGregor in the second half of the match.
Up to now, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have only encountered each other twice. The whole world has expected every hour to come to the third match of these two punches at UFC 264.
Conor McGregor opened the match with continuous Spin kick kicks, continuing to attack his opponent with low range kicks. After half of the stood, Poirier started pulling the match to the battlefield, and McGregor hugged the lock (Clinch).
Although Conor greatly strives to resist the shots from the bottom up, the situation is not too optimistic for the former champion. Dustin Poirier launched a lot of right punches and quite heavy indexes. Conor pulled the match back to fight, kicked a few upkicks, but soon after that Poirier launched a series of very strong punches, causing Conor to stagger and fell to the floor. At that moment, Conor seemed fractured with ankle.
Poirier foster a few punches, but not enough to defeat Knockout Conor before the first half ended. However, after checking the injury of Conor McGregor, referee Herb Dean decided that Conor's ankle was overturned and he could not continue playing.
At the end of the match, at first Conor McGregor was very dissatisfied and even intended to argue with the referee, but he quickly accepted the results. Before going to the radio with a stretcher, McGregor could even promptly provoke Poirier a few sentences.
