Conor McGregor had to leave the UFC 264 match on the stretcher, after a tibia fracture in the first battle with Dustin Poirier. However, at the end of the match, McGregor still plays the role of “bad guy”, with a series of provocative insults about Poirier and his wife, Jolie.
Up to the next day, “The Notorious” updated on Instagram a picture he himself lying on the stretcher, with a brief caption: “You still need me!”
The “people” here are the MMA, UFC tournament, or the audience? This no one knows, but there have been many ideas that Conor McGregor has no confidence in himself after consecutive losses.
In another development on social networks, Conor McGregor admitted that he played a trick when he grabbed Dustin Poirier's gloves to kick the opponent right in front of the referee Herb Dean. Poirier also mentioned this in an interview after the match at UFC 264.
“Conor hooked Dustin gloves while (referee) Herb was still calm.
“Both Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov mentioned that problem with the referee. Is that why Conor on the arbitration is also Herb Dean for easy favor?”
Conor responded in the comment section: “Where is this guy from the referee?”
Not long after the aforementioned trick, Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor returned to fight, and Conor's leg injury occurred when he stepped back in a double phase with Poirier. McGregor had just undergone a 3 and a half hours of surgery to handle this injury.
