To prepare for the upcoming match at the event One championship: TNT II, Martin Nguyen was forced to leave his family in Australia and fly to the United States. He is currently practicing in Sanford MMA located in Florida, which is having a problem of discrimination against Asians.
This racial discrimination reached its peak after the shooting of Asian -Americans in Atlanta, killing 8 people.
In the interview with the South China Morning Post, Martin Nguyen commented:
“These are sinful actions. The world we love is filled with hatred. Luckily I grew up in Australia and never stigma. But in fact it always exists, I just rarely get involved.”
“I sympathize with what the Asian community in the US experienced. During Florida practicing, I have never been affected by this problem. However, it still happens every day and has a negative tendency.”
Martin Nguyen also said that the need to do now is to spread the message against racial discrimination on the media.
“Everything is still going on and there is no sign of stopping, so what do we need to do? Only when we spoke and raised community awareness, this problem could stop.”
Currently, the wave of protests condemns Asian violence is spreading throughout the United States. Senior US leaders are also trying to reassure and solve cases related to the issue of ethnic discrimination.
Martin Nguyen is preparing to confront Kim Jae Woong at Kien One On TNT 2 on April 14.
