The story of Francis nunnou dissatisfied with UFC about the contract is not a new thing.
Although he agreed to unify the belt with the person who holds the Interim Ciryl Gane in early 2022, Francis Ngannou said he would still be able to fox from MMA to the boxing floor.
“Practicing to make MMA more difficult than to practice on the boxing station. Anyway, I feel that I should not accept the existing salary – with that money, I still have to borrow money to compensate for the expenses for my training process,” Francis Ngannou shared on The MMA Hour.
“Perhaps, at some point, I will have to pursue matches for money. I will have to pursue that boxing matches like that.”
In the same conversation, Francis Ngannou also accused UFC paying a foaming salary, binding fighters harshly and even trying to lose the prestige of the boxer in order to force Ngunnou to sign a new contract with a very low salary.
The heavy champion published a number of the terms considered to be the most “strangled” provisions in the boxer contract with UFC – including the terms that his palace and his colleagues once wanted to sue the largest MMA in the world.
1 – Exclusive terms: A banned UFC boxer appears in fighting matches that can be broadcast on television, or matches held by companies that compete with UFC. This term will be extended if the contract is extended.
2 – Terms of “champion”: UFC is allowed to automatically renew the contract within 6 months or more, if the boxer is the champion in any weight class.
This means that even when the contract is expired and a certain champion, in this case is the nunnou, it is impossible to leave the tournament, because UFC has automatically renewed his contract.
At the time of the contract maturity, if the boxer retains the championship, the contract will continue to be extended in a year or after the boxer completes 3 more matches with UFC.
3 – Terms of hanging gloves: UFC maintains all exclusive rights with a martial artist who has hanged gloves or injured or for some reason that cannot be played.
With these 3 terms, Francis Ngannou's competition, which was expired on May 20, 2021, automatically extended 6 months for him to play the final match in the contract.
If the nunnou successfully defended the belt early next year, he must continue to fight for UFC for a year, or “drove” with 3 training matches. In this case, nunnou cannot “pay” but wait for a year, because UFC will freely extend his contract for at least 6 months.
