At the present time, Boxing Vietnam is using the Competition Code from the International Boxing Association (IBA). However, in the previous years, Boxing Vietnam had some adjustments to suit the situation. One of them is the regulation related to the scoring and settlement of complaints.
Since the end of 2022, IBA has abandoned the complaint, marking the match score. Instead, with the matches with a score of 3-2, the two direct monitoring of the match will dot to produce the final results (Bout Review). The ratio may be 5-2 or 4-3 depending on the score of each monitor given.
However, this new regulation of IBA is relatively difficult to apply, especially the Bout Review system requires additional turning angles to monitor decisions. Therefore, Boxing Vietnam still applies the old regulations (allowing for complaints, marking scores) until the end of 2024.
By 2025, Boxing Vietnam officially applies the Bout Review system to the grading. The Boxing Championship of the National Teams nationwide 2025 is also the first tournament to use this format. Interesting things happened, when the first match of the tournament needed Bout Review to determine.
The first bout of the Bout Review at the Boxing Championship of the Nation's strong teams 2025 was the match at 66kg weight class 17-18, between two boxers Mai Quynh Chi (Hanoi) and Le Huong Giang (Quang Ninh). At the end of 3 rounds, the temporary score given is 3-2. That makes 2 dots supervision, with the final victory in the Hanoi boxer.
