According to information from the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF), the Vietnam General Martial Arts Cup – the first official playground organized by the Federation – will take place on December 19, 2021, the location is Rach Mieu Stadium, Phu Nhuan District Sports Center (No. 1 Hoa Phuong Street, Ward 2, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City).
“This is a playground completely organized by the Federation, with the goal of checking and reviewing the quality of the athletes, coaches, referees, as well as the organization of events to develop MMA Vietnam in the future,” Mr. Mai Thanh Ba, General Secretary of the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation, shared with Thethao.vn.
Organized as an event towards the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of the Federation (January 22, 2020 – January 22, 2022), the Vietnam General Martial Arts Cup is expected to strengthen the exchange and experience between units, and encourage and develop the MMA movement in the country.
Even when organized in a somewhat urgent state, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Cup is also very worthy of being considered as one of the tournaments with great attraction to the Vietnamese martial arts community. The most remarkable here is the reward of the prizes for fighters who are superior to many domestic tournaments.
It is known that the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation will award the Certificate of event and bonus as follows:
The fighter lost: 10 million VND and the medal.
Winning boxers: 25 million, accompanied by the championship trophy. In case the boxer wins with Knockout or Submission, the boxer will receive 30 million VND and the championship trophy.
Not stopping there, the organizers will also choose the best match at night, about the style of competition, about the comprehensive technical. The bonus for the best boxer is also 10 million.
Currently, the event is expected to include 8 matches. Each match for 3 rounds, 5 minutes each. Applied by the Law issued by the MMA Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation in 2021.

This is not the first synthetic martial arts event in Vietnam – before that, we had MMA battles held by Lien Phong dojo of actor Johnny Tri Nguyen, or MMA match performed at the event of the 4th Battle Event in late 2020.
However, this is the first official playground organized by the Federation, so the community may expect to have more high quality events, thrilling matches from Vietnamese athletes themselves in the future.
