Jon Jones plan to confront Francis nunnou on the day of returning to the battlefield

The former champion of Light Heavyweight – Jon Jones has not set foot on the floor since February 2020. The last time 34 -year -old boxer was in UFC 247 with the victory over Dominick Reyes in the Light Heavyweight Belt.

In addition, Schaefer also revealed that he was planning to return to the ring of “Bone” Jones in the highly expected competition with the Heavyweight UFC 270 – Francis nunnou.

“Jon is willing, ready and can be compared to anyone we can arrange for the title of Heavyweight. I want to organize a match with Francis nunnou. I am negotiating with UFC and I will come to see them directly in Los Angeles this weekend,” Schaefer shared with The Sun.

The blockbuster match between Jones and Ngunnou was actually considered by 2021. However, this highly expected match was delayed indefinitely because of not agreeing on the remuneration between Jones and BTC UFC. This made the UFC president, Dana White ready to let Jones stand outside the game in the entire 2021.

But recently, in the Q&A with fans on the ESPN+ Q&A program, Dana White revealed that he did not exclude the possibility that he would hold a match between Jones and Ngunnou this year. “I don't know anymore. I hope it will be one of the big matches this year. If we can arrange that match, we will definitely do it,” White said.
