In 2021, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation resonated with the MMA Cup event. In the context of complicated Covid-19 translation, the fact that a general martial arts tournament took place in Ho Chi Minh City in December 2021 made a strong impression not only for martial arts fans, but also on the audience community watching sports. This is the premise to help VMMAF expand the martial arts events in Vietnam in the future.
Following the success of the MMA Cup, VMMAF is expected to organize an integrated martial arts event in Vietnam in 2022 in 3 stages, with a series of fighters competing in all three regions. With the format of 6 weight classes and 5 weight classes of women, VMMAF can start the matches from June.
The first qualifying venue will take place in all three areas: the North, the Central – Central Highlands and the South. In addition to expanding the organization scale and the number of general martial arts matches, the VMMAF specialized committee said it would improve the professional quality right from the qualifying round.
In fact, this was done by VMMAF right before the MMA trophy, and they were expected to be taken closer in 2022 when the number of boxers registered to play over time.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Ha, Deputy Head of the Specialized Committee proposed:
“In case the boxer participates in the qualifying round but does not meet the professional requirements, that person will be certified instead of the elimination in the next round, not to consider the great painting. In the second round, those who pass the regional qualifier will compete with 16 boxers who have attended the MMA 2021 Cup to rank. Until the third stage, the new championship battles will be conducted.”
In addition to the strict rules of the boxers who intend to compete at the Vietnamese general martial arts playground, VMMAF also plans to ensure the quality of the event by organizing additional training classes for high school coach and high school referee.
In addition, the Federation plans to send coaches to local training according to the actual needs of each region, as well as cooperation in investing in facilities and equipment for member clubs. This is given to develop fighter training facilities, and encourage the movement of training and martial arts competition across the country.
