According to the schedule of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Martial Arts Championship (MMA) – Lion Championship, the Northern Regional qualifying took place 15 matches on June 11. The second match in the Northern Regional qualifier took place between two boxers Nguyen Phu Quy (No.1 Muay Club) and Dang Van Quy (Vietnam Fight Club).
However, the match between the two boxers of the same name was finally pushed to Saturday. Thethao.vnA member of the Organizing Committee said that this match was delayed the schedule because one of the two boxers had not prepared the full papers.
In order to create favorable conditions for this boxer to play, the organizers have pushed the schedule of other matches up and back the schedule of Nguyen Phu Quy – Dang Van Quy to Saturday. This match then took place with the victory by calculating the point in favor of Dang Van Quy. The referees Dang Van Quy won all 3 rounds, thereby winning the final 30-27.
The match between Nguyen Phu Quy and Dang Van Quy also closed the first half of Lion Championship in the North. The qualifying round continued to take place with the remaining 8 matches, starting at 19:30 on 11/6, including 7 men's matches and 1 female match.
The most notable match of the Lion Championship 2022 qualifier in the Northern region took place in the 15th match, which was also the last match. In this match, boxer Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat will play MMA – martial arts for the first time in his career.
Not long before the only match took place, his opponent asked to give up. Therefore, “Lonely Cau Muay Thai” will play a performance at the end of the northern qualifying round, instead of the official match as expected.
