According to the announcement from the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF), with the number of boxers who pass the first qualifying round of 56kg than expected, the Lion Championship Organizing Committee of 2022 has conducted additional draws. This is to choose 10 fighters competing on August 20 in Ho Chi Minh City to find people going to the quarterfinals.
According to the additional draw schedule, two fighters were given the opportunity to continue without the second qualifying round, Do Huy Hoang and Nguyen Thanh Do. Besides, a fighter who came straight to the quarterfinals thanks to the MMA 2021 trophy, Pham Van Nam, did not have to play a qualifying round. 10 other boxers must fight the second round of the tournament, specifically as follows:

The most notable face among the boxers who had to compete in the second qualifying round of Lion Championship, Pham Ba Hoi. He has held the national kickboxing championship for many years, while winning the 30th SEA Games gold medal in the Philippines. At the 31st SEA Gamges, Ba Hoi did not play because he did not win the national 2022.
According to the notice from the Lion Championship Organizing Committee 2022, the 2nd qualifying matches are held in the form of closed matches, without the audience. The evolution and the results of the matches will be announced after the matches are completed.
