In April 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports recognized the campaigning committee to establish the Ho Chi Minh City General Martial Arts Federation (HMMAF). In July, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City made an official decision to establish HMMAF.
On that basis, the campaign board organized the Congress of the Delegation to establish the Ho Chi Minh City General Martial Arts Union (HMMAF) term 1. The ceremony was solemnly held at the New World Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon of September 15.
Attending the Congress of the Delegate to establish HMMAF term 1 with representatives of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, representative of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, Mr. Mai Ba Hung, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, General Secretary of the Military Martial Arts Federation, Mr. Mai Thanh Ba, General Secretary of the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF).
Mr. Chatri Sityodtong, founder and president of the General Martial Arts Award One Championship; Viwat Sakulrat, president of Tiger Muay Thai (Thailand) system and many leaders of the National Martial Arts Federation and Ho Chi Minh City are guests who appear at the establishment of HMMAF term 1.
With the establishment of HMMAF, the general martial arts movement in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to develop strongly in both domestic and international scale. Term 1 HMMAF is expected to last for 5 years, from 2022 to 2027 with the plan set out in the direction of operation of the congress document.
