Preparing for the One Championship Championship Protection match against Garry Tonon in early December, Thanh Le recently said he had practiced at Jackson Wink MMA, instead of practicing a small group of friends practicing at his family dojo as usual.
“For me, Louisiana is still home, still where I maintain training with a small group of friends,” Thanh Le shared on SCMP MMA.
“Even so, normally I often try to practice in other gyms. I practice BJJ with Ryan Hall (UFC boxer, Brazilian world champion Jiu-jitsu) for a long time, so I tried following him to practice at Jackson Wink.”
Jackson Wink MMA furnace is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, not too far from Louisiana. This is a place to train many famous boxers, including famous UFC champions such as Jon Jones, Holly Holm, Rashad Evans, Frank Mir, Georges St-Pierre, …
Chain Thanh and Ryan Hall also went to the training floor with Jon Jones. Thanh Le's experience here was considered by the One Championship champion to be “extremely wonderful”.
“The atmosphere of training is great, each training session is great. I talked to the excellent coaches and fighters there, listening to the words they talked about training, techniques, tactics,” Thanh Le said.
“Moreover, practicing in a new environment is also very beneficial. It recreates the feeling when I have to confront new opponents, the people I am not familiar with.”
Thanh Le also revealed that after the training, he would return to Louisiana in the next few weeks. Thus, the One Championship champion is about 2 weeks left for preparation and moving to the competition location.
The match between Thanh Le and Garry Tonon was scheduled to be held since the summer of 2021.
