The Asian Youth Boxing Championship will start from October 23 to November 3 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The young boxing team in Vietnam participated in this year's tournament with the force of 16 boxers. This is the number of athletes participating in the largest tournament ever.
Many young talents of Boxing Vietnam will have the first opportunity to learn and experience international competition such as Luc Thao Thanh (50kg), Huynh Thao Linh (52kg), Nguyen Le Bao Thy (63kg), Nguyen Hong Hai Bang (66kg) and Tran Thanh Tuyen (75kg).
In addition to the new boxers, many old faces will be 'chosen to send gold' to dispute the medal at the Asian Boxing Championship, including: Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (48kg), Song Thi Kim Ngan (50kg), Thuong Thi Nhung (54kg), Tran Thi Truc Han (57kg) and Luong Anh Tuyet (60kg). Young boxers were selected after the end of the National Boxing Championship held in mid -July in Ho Chi Minh City.

The boxers will be led by the coaching committee including 3 people: Pham Thanh Hai, Nguyen Dinh Quan and Tran Tuan Hai. In particular, coach Pham Thanh Hai was the one who led the young boxing team in Vietnam to attend the tournament last year.
This year's Asian Boxing Prize will play in 2 groups of 15-16 and 17-18. The content of men and women aged 15-16 and men 17-18 includes 13 weight classes. Meanwhile, only female content 17-18 is playing with 12 weight classes.
