After 6 matches in the afternoon of October 22, the semi -finals of the Vietnam MMA Lion Championship took place the remaining 10 matches in the evening. The direct interruption of broadcasting waves took place at about 20h40, the time the match between the two boxers Quach Thi Khanh Linh and Duong Thi Thanh Binh (56kg female) was about to start.
After a few minutes of interruption, Lion Championship's live wave continued to take place normally again. It was the time when the match between the two boxers Do Huy Hoang and Nguyen Thanh Do (56kg Nam) was about to take place. Lion Championship was recorded as the first MMA tournament in Vietnam. The 2022 season of Lion Championship consists of 8 weight classes of men and women, taking place in 3 stages: 3rd round qualifiers (North, Central – Central Highlands, Southern), quarterfinals – semi -finals and final rounds. This is an unprecedented large -scale martial arts event in Vietnam.
According to the notice from the Organizing Committee, instead of taking place in January 2023 as expected, the Lion Championship final round will be held in late November 2022. The venue for the event is Phu Quoc Island. With Lion Championship closed earlier than expected time, boxers can wholeheartedly play before the National Sports Festival takes place.
In addition to the free boxers (practicing at the clubs), the athletes participating in Lion Championship have many people who are athletes under localities. They are those who help the tournament of high quality, thereby raising the image of MMA Vietnam in the eyes of the audience, typically “Lonely Muay Thai Thai” Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat.
Also according to the notice from the Organizing Committee, it is expected that from the 2023 season, Lion Championship will take place monthly events. This gives fans the opportunity to regularly experience professional martial arts, one commonly found in international tournaments such as UFC or ONE Championship.
