Daniel Cormier is a former professional American MMA boxer, currently working as a commentator for UFC. Appearing on the First Take program of the ESPN channel recently, he has made people who love Boxing to wave when underestimating Muhammad Ali, who is considered the greatest heavyweight boxer in history.
Specifically, Cormier has listed the list of the top 5 fighters of all his own time. Accordingly, Ali is only ranked 3rd, under Khabib Nurmagomedov – who is considered the greatest MMA boxer in history. Cormier said:
“People may not agree with me about this, I ranked Muhammad Ali in 3rd place. Ali is one of the greatest boxers of all time. What he does is not only encapsulated in the scope of Boxing.
But the difference lies in his influence in the American community. Ali has done many great things outside the stage. I think that's why we consider him the No. 1 boxer. “
Cormier continued to explain the choice of Khabib at No. 2: “He has a record of 29 winning 0 loss. The way Khabib defeated Conor McGregor no one could compare. He could protect his championship many times.”
At the top of Cormier's list is American fighter Floyd Mayweather. UFC's BLV claims that Mayweather is not only the best boxer but also the greatest promotional in history.
“Floyd Mayweather beat Canelo and then Manny Pacquiao. It doesn't matter when he won, all the opponents were defeated by Mayweather,” Cormier emphasized that the puncher had a record of winning all 50 matches in his career.
