Shortly after announcing the 2022 Season Ranking, the Vietnam MMA Champion Lion Championship announced the new season's charter. According to this charter, the second season of Vietnam General Martial Arts will have many new points, promising attractive events from now until the end of 2023.
Firstly, Lion Championship 2023 will have a program to compete and compete within the framework of the weight of 84kg. A number of matches in this weight class in 2022 took place, but the number of boxers was not enough to conduct belt competition. This may be the Lion Championship's 9th championship category in the near future.
Secondly, in order to make sure the matches in Lion Championship 2023 took place, the organizers decided to arrange fighters in Group A and B. Group A, including boxers who attended the Lion Championship 2022 and were named on the rankings. Table B consists of the remaining boxers, with the competition format slightly different from Group A.
Third, the Lion Championship 2023 season will start in March this year, with the destination of Hanoi. This season is expected to have a total of 8 events held, mainly taking place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The last event was conducted in November on Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang.
Fourth, the boxers attending Lion Championship 2023 can register in 2 phases, taking place in February and June. Within the framework of class division and paintings, each boxer can fight up to 5 matches/year. The schedule of the boxer was announced by the organizers 2 months in advance (with a class) or 3 months (with the battle of belt).
The Lion Championship rules of the 2023 season also announced the bonus for fighters to attend. Accordingly, the winner in the ranking matches in the top 16 boxers of the tournament received 10 million bonuses. The highest bonus for winners in belt matches, up to 200 million VND/match.
