The efforts of the parties involved for many years, including UFC, have led the Association of Boxing and Sports Committees (ABC) to consider adjusting the competition law. In the latest developments, they voted through the rules to abolish this ban, thereby allowing boxers to be beaten 12-6 when lying.

The new rule of ABC takes effect from November 1, 2024. MMA fighters, coaches and referees have more than 3 months to adjust and update according to the new law before applying it in practice. The 12-6 olster is defined as “the index is launched from the top down in a vertical direction when the opponent is in a lying position”.

The approval of the allowable order of 12-6 in a lying position when playing MMA is an important adjustment to many international tournaments, including UFC. Because, the boxers played about Striking, (punching, kicking, pillows, poinities) now there will be more advantages than the opponent about grappling (object, lock).

On the Jon Jones side, right after receiving the information about allowing the number 12-6 in a position, this boxer shared on social networks. He even joked, when “asking” UFC to reverse the result of his 15 -year match, from a defeat for being disqualified to play into a victory.
