– Ithethao.vn: Congratulations to coach Nguyen Nhu Cuong and the Vietnamese boxing team for tickets to attend the Paris Olympic Games by boxer Vo Thi Kim Anh. The process of training towards the Olympic Games for Kim Anh takes place from when, and how is it done?
Coach Nguyen Nhu Cuong (Head coach of Vietnam Women's Boxing Team, Head of Hanoi Women's Boxing Department): In fact, Kim Anh has gathered with the team in Hanoi for a long time. Because of some problems, the training process for me in 2023 was interrupted. Until earlier this year, Anh continued to concentrate in Hanoi. From the beginning, the coaching staff prepared a training plan for Kim Anh to target the Paris Olympic Games.
The preparation has existed before, so Kim Anh immediately entered the training when present in Hanoi. Everything is done smoothly because the light is very suitable for the training environment here. I integrate well with the national team athletes who are gathering in Hanoi, as well as foreign experts.
The training in an appropriate environment helps Kim Anh to achieve good performance immediately. In fact, the focus on the Olympic qualifying round is relatively short, there are parts that the coaching staff must be prepared to be ready because the plan has risen. During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, Anh did not return to his hometown but stayed with the team to practice.
Kim Anh's last training session in the old year was the afternoon of 30 Tet. On the 2nd day of Lunar New Year, I continued to return to practice. Anh and the training team were very hard. I tried a lot, trying my best with the goal of determination to conquer the ticket to attend the Olympic Games.
– Does the process of the team come to Italy to play Olympic qualifying round have any difficulties, sir?
On the day Kim Anh played the semi -final (the second match against Hanna Lakotar, Hungary boxer) cars carrying teams from the hotel to the stadium did not appear. Therefore, the team had to take the initiative to take taxi and Tawan expert to the game first to keep up.
Italy is also a geographical location away from Vietnam, the time zone is 6 hours, the weather is colder, so it affects the training process of the team. The preparation before playing the team in Italy is also not much. We left from February 29, to 3/3 played the first match.
Another factor is this year's Olympic qualifying round with a large number of athletes. The support of the organizers with delegations such as preparing shuttle buses sometimes inconsistent. The team must ask the organizers carefully about the time, schedule, as well as unexpected changes to have timely preparation.
– After the first Olympic qualifying round, what activities will Vietnam boxing team have for the next qualifying period in Thailand?
We have planned in the near future. On March 12, the whole team will return to Vietnam. In the immediate future, we are considering the training and attending some international tournaments. The whole team will definitely have a training trip to Thailand, but before that, we will consider the possibility of another training in Kazakhstan.
The training schedule for members of the team should be calculated based on the athletes' condition properly. We will prepare so that the athletes can play with the highest performance, dedicated and proved the national boxing team always tried their best for the color of the shirt.
– Kim Anh is An Giang athlete, focusing on the team in Hanoi and has a ticket to the Olympic. Is this the time when the national women's boxing team in Hanoi will receive more excellent athletes to practice and train in the near future?
Team personnel are assigned according to the Department of Physical Training and Sports. The Vietnam Women's Boxing team works on demand from the Department of Sports and Physical Education, without the distinction of the region and the locality. Kim Anh also had time to practice with the team in Hanoi before, rather than practicing in a short time.
Currently, the Vietnamese women's boxing team practices in Hanoi has only 5 members. The national team here has more conditions to practice and rub thanks to the Hanoi Women's Boxing team. We think in the future, the number of players practicing here may increase, including athletes from other localities.
If more players come here to practice with the assignment of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, the team will always receive and welcome. The players also need more teammates to train and progress together, because this is the Vietnamese boxing team, the national team.
