As the final qualifying round of Boxing at the Paris Olympic Games, the 2nd qualifier takes place from May 23 to June 3 in Bangkok, Thailand. On that basis, the Thai Boxing Association has informed many national teams for training areas for international athletes to practice and prepare in the near future.
According to the announcement from the Thai Boxing Association, the International Training Area for the 2nd Olympic qualifying round will last for 2 weeks, from May 9 to May 21. The Thai side added that the number of members they received was limited, so countries needed to register for early capacity to keep their previous reservation.
“The qualifying round starts in Bangkok from May 23, so teams who come to Thailand to practice can stay and play right after the training camp closed,” the Thai Boxing Association announced. The next qualifying round will select 23 female athletes, 28 male athletes directly win tickets to the Paris Olympic Games this summer.
During the training camp, the teams will practice from 9 am to 6 pm daily, from May 9 to May 20. On the last day of the training period (May 21), the delegations will notify the organizers of which athletes will stay in the qualifying round, which athletes will return early or not to compete.
In the case of the teams that need to apply for an entry visa, the Thai side will assist them with procedures. The delegations can contact the specialized officials of the Thai Boxing Association for registration assistance, as well as learn about the procedure for granting the host country's visa for support with the best conditions.
