On May 10, the Indian Boxing team members set out for Kazakhstan to attend the Elorda Cup 2024. This is a tournament that helps the athletes to rub and accumulate international competition experience. To ensure both targets at the same time, India has set up two different teams to compete during this time.
The list of Indian Boxing teams competing for Elorda Cup 2024 has 21 athletes, including 11 male boxers and 10 female boxers. India also sent some of their top athletes to attend this tournament to restore their form, and found the feeling of competition. One of them is the current champion of Nikhat Zareeen.
Previously, at another tournament to gain experience for young athletes, the Boxing U22 and Asian Championships, Indian boxing have the following records:
– Age of U22: 7 gold medals, 5 gold medals, 9 bronze medals.
– Age of U18: 5 gold medals, 9 gold medals, 8 bronze medals.
In the Paris Olympic Games, Boxing India attended with 9 athletes, because they won Olympic tickets in the remaining 4 contents. The list of Indian Boxing team members attending the 2nd Olympic Games was announced in early April. It was also the time when the International Olympic Committee closed the registration list.
On the side of Boxing Vietnam, the team list was only officially “closed” in early May, according to the decision from the Department of Physical Training and Sports. This list is not the name of Nguyen Thi Tam, the athlete attended the first qualifying round. Instead, she was Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran, a 20 -year -old athlete of Can Tho.
Other athletes of Boxing Vietnam attended the 2nd Olympic qualifying round, including Nguyen Huyen Tran, Hoang Ngoc Mai, Ha Thi Linh, Luu Diem Quynh, Nguyen Minh Cuong, Nguyen Van Duong, Vu Thanh Dat, Nguyen Duc Long, Nguyen Manh Cuong and Doan Ngoc Minh Hieu. They will play in 11 content.
