Duc Long participated in the 2nd Paris Olympic qualifying round with the achievement of the 3 consecutive domestic tournaments. In national tournaments, Duc Long often plays 80kg male weight. Duc Long's opponent in the opening match was Wanderson de Oliveira, Brazilian boxer. Oliveira is rated as one of the strongest faces of this qualifying period. He had once won the bronze medal of the Boxing World Championship, as well as 2 times to win the gold medal in the South American championship.
The advantage of Wanderson de Oliveira was confirmed by Brazilian boxers early before Duc Long. He continuously attacked and at the same time put the representative of Vietnam into the corner to launch very strong blows. In the second half, after about 1 minute of competition, the referee decided to stop the match and recognize the victory of RSC for Oliveira. This is the result that the arbitrator stated that the match between the two sides was too different, and decided to stop the match early to ensure the health of the boxer.
