At Lion Championship in the first season, Kamil used to weigh twice (but in the regulation – less than 0.5kg). He accepted to be punished to compete. But since the final of Lion Championship, Kamil has fully complied with weight requirements and does not let too much weight. He cuts well in 2 consecutive matches.
In the context of Kamil and many other boxers adjusting the reasonable weight so that the phenomenon of overweight is not recurring, Lion Championship still has many rare cases. The phenomenon of overweight boxers is happening in the Lion Championship 2023 season. There are fighters of up to 2-3kg on the day of weight, causing the game to cancel.
In terms of expertise, there are many reasons that martial artists cannot squeeze the weight enough to compete. But besides being eliminated, the overweight boxers accidentally made their opponents unable to compete. That is the case of Ro Mah Chung, boxers registered to compete in Group B Lion Championship 56kg male weight.
Considered to be one of the remarkable faces of MMA Vietnam in the future, Ro Mah is currently a boxer of Muay No.1 club of boxer Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat. He was arranged to play with Huynh Ngoc Hung, but this match could eventually not take place as desired by Ro Mah.
On the day of checking weight before the Lion Championship 7 event, Huynh Ngoc Hung still redundant 2.8kg. This made him unable to squeeze weight in time, thereby having to cancel the match. But the person who suffered more in this match was not Huynh Ngoc Hung, but the Ro Mah, who also had to force and meet the competition.
Because he could not play with Huynh Ngoc Hung, Ro Mah naturally had no bonus from the organizers. He had to wait for the organizers to play the match again, and had to go through a training, pressing weight again to the next match. That is the disadvantage that few people know and sympathize.
