In the notes of the Organizing Committee, Boxing at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 will apply the Law on Competition issued by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Different from the current law of the International Boxing Association (IBA), IBA's law has some adjustments. The new rules are in the obligations of doctors and referees.
Firstly, the doctor (of the Organizing Committee) is in charge of caring for boxers playing on the floor of the radio to be limited in time, as well as the number of treatments for the athletes. They are only treated only 1 time, and each time lasts 1 minute. There is no exception for the athletes to be treated, even when they win.
That also means that, if the athlete was injured for the second time in a half, this athlete was definitely required to stop the game and be tried to lose. Therefore, the Boxing team coaching team at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 needs to prepare and instruct the athletes in advance to avoid the problem.
Secondly, the Organizing Committee does not apply IBA's Bout review. At the tournament managed by IBA, 3-2 results will apply Bout Review: 2 Supervisor to watch the match and review for 5 minutes, then add more. The result now may be 5-2 or 4-3 depending on the judgment of each monitoring.
However, IOC does not use Bout Review so only 3-2 results, and certainly not to complain to the match. In fact, IBA has also abandoned the rules that allows the team to complain, request to re -mark the match results that have ended, after applying for a few years.
Another interesting detail is that the Paris 2024 Olympic website confused the basic information about the Boxing Law. They recorded a match of the female athletes that lasted 4 rounds, each 2 minutes. However, this is the old law, and the Olympic -level female boxing has moved into 3 rounds, each 3 minutes for a long time.
