It is reported that the competition between Khamzat Chimaev and the Welterweight Leon Edwards champion may be the UFC 300 main event. However, this information has not been confirmed by reliable sources. Recently, Jon Jones also spoke out to partly confirm that.

“I was asked by UFC to play at UFC 300. That also means, UFC 300 has not been able to close the main event.

The last time Jon Jones took place in March 2023, the time when he lowered Ciryl Gane to win the UFC Championship Heavyweight. Earlier, Jones had many years of dominance in Light Heavyweight. He was scheduled to continue playing in November last year, but must be canceled because of the ligament break.

In case Jones recovered as expected, he could play in the second half of 2024. That also means that the Heavyweight Championships certainly cannot compete at UFC 300. This makes UFC continue to find other big matches to replace.
